As part of the implementation of the general plan for Senyar Diving Team of the Volunteer Work Center and as per the protection efforts conducted by the team to preserve the marine environment and its coral reefs communities, team members have installed and maintained a number of marine mooring buoys in the vicinity of the sea surrounding Umm Al-Maradim Island. These activities are considered part of the voluntary national efforts of Kuwaiti youth volunteers to serve the Kuwaiti marine environment.
This work included a number of environmental activities that promote the conservation and preservation of marine environment from all sources of pollution. The team is appealing to island visitors to use the mooring buoys in order to preserve the coral reef communities from damage, which in its turn will preserve Kuwait's marine natural resources.
The NAUI Green Diver Initiative sends its appreciation to the Senior Diving Team and NAUI Middle East for their awesome efforts in marine conservation! Keep up the great work!

A team of 24 “topsiders” on land, 4 student volunteers, and three boats, assisted 27 divers as they descended on Brohard Beach on Saturday, July 15, 2017, to remove underwater debris from a spot that is very popular with families, fishers, and beach lovers.
Among the debris were sunglasses, a guitar pick, $20, a man’s ring, and a cell phone along with common items such as - anchors, traps, rope, knives, lures, line, and rods & reels that altogether added up to 141 pounds of waste.
Well done on a successful event! To get involved in future initiatives, contact Ken Lackmann, of Suncoast Reef Rovers.
