The Oman Divers team are showcasing admirable stewardship of their local waters. Representing the Green Diver Initiative, they have partnered with the Oman Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs for an environmental campaign that will conduct a monthly cleanup at Demaniyat Island. The kick-off cleanup on March 16th resulted in 300 Kg of waste being collected, including: fishing nets, cans, plastic aluminum plates, and food waste. Great work everyone!
In early July, a group of Omani divers, along with support from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs (MOECA), conducted a reef cleaning campaign at Demaniate Island in the Sultanate of Oman.
The core mission of the MOECA is the policy development and preparation of plans and programs necessary for the protection of the environment, pollution control, nature conservation and management of climatic affairs.
Well done divers of NAUI Service Center Middle East!
